EME want students to have the very best experience in learning English and therefore pride ourselves in matching our clients to English language courses that tick all the boxes. We believe that it’s never to late to start learning, fine tune or perfect your level of English.

Below are some examples of English Language courses we can match you to.

Standard General English

The Standard General English language course helps you to improve your English language skills for everyday life, work and further studies.

  • The course covers all areas of English – reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
  • You will cover a range of topics in a fun and interactive classroom environment.
  • Each lesson focusses on building your understanding of the language, enabling you to attain higher levels of fluency and confidence.
  • You will receive homework and additional materials to help your development.
  • Courses may vary depending on the school you attend – you will usually study from Monday to Friday for 3 or 4 hours per day.

Intensive English

This course will improve your communicational fluency, equipping you with skills to confidently utilise the English language in all settings.

  • The morning sessions will follow the same programme as the Standard General English course.
  • In addition, you will have afternoon lessons, usually focussing on speaking. In these lessons you will improve your conversation, group discussion and presentation skills.
  • Courses may vary depending on the school you attend – you will usually study from Monday to Friday for 3 or 4 hours per day in the morning, with an additional 7 to 10 hours of afternoon lessons per week.

General English with One to One Lessons 

This course is for those who want to see a rapid improvement in their level of English. You will have the opportunity to concentrate on the areas of your understanding that need the most improvement.

  • The morning sessions will follow the same programme as the Standard General English course.
  • In addition, you will have a set number of one to one lessons tailored around your study needs.
  • One to one lessons can target language terminology used in your area of specialism, for example, Business, Medical, Aviation or Law.
  • Courses may vary depending on the school you attend – you will usually study from Monday to Friday for 3 or 4 hours per day in the morning, with a pre-agreed number of one to one hours in the afternoon.

One to One Lessons 

For those who want to see a rapid improvement in their language skills, we can provide One to One Lessons tailored to your individual needs.

  • Any topic can be covered.
  • The lessons can take place either in person or via Skype or Facetime.
  • You can choose how many hours you study and at what time. Please contact us for further details.

IELTS Preparation Course

IELTS is the most widely recognised exam for those who need to prove their level of English for work, education or emigration purposes. It measures your English language proficiency in all four areas of communication; listening, reading, writing and speaking.

  • The morning sessions will follow the same programme as the Standard General English course.
  • In addition, you will also have afternoon classes on specific days of the week in which you will concentrate on everything you need to obtain a high score on the exam.
  • This course is usually available in either Standard (3 afternoons per week) or Fast-track (5 afternoons per week). Hours vary depending on school; please contact us for further details.

Standard General or Intensive English with Work Experience

You can choose and join your desired course for a minimum of 2 weeks after which we will carefully outsource your work experience placement for 2 to 4 weeks. Typical work experience placements you can choose from are restaurants, offices and charities (if you are interested in a particular field we will do our best to match your requirements).

  • The English classes will either follow the Standard General or Intensive English programme.
  • Once your course has finished, you will begin your work experience in a carefully selected professional environment. All work places will require you to interact with native English speakers, giving you more confidence and the opportunity to perfect your skills.

Cambridge FCE and CAE Course

Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) and Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) are internationally recognised exams for people who need to prove they can use every-day written and spoken English at an Upper-Intermediate (FCE) or Advanced (CAE) level, for work or study purposes. Course content and length varies depending on your choice of school. Please contact us for more details.

Standard General English with Business English

This course is for professionals who would like to gain practical English language that they can use in the world of business.

  • The morning sessions will follow the same programme as the Standard General English course.
  • In addition, you will have afternoon classes covering everything you will need to master business communication.
  • Business lessons will cover email and letter writing, the use of formal English, language for meetings and telephone conversations, presentations, negotiating and much more.
  • Courses may vary depending on the school you attend – you will usually study from Monday to Friday for 3 or 4 hours per day in the morning, with an additional 7 to 10 hours of afternoon lessons per week.

Teacher Training Course

A range of Teacher Training courses are available to suit everyone from those who are newly qualified to professionals with more than 20 years’ experience.

  • Common topics include Methodology, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), Blended Learning, and Language Development.
  • Course content will vary depending on the school you attend – please contact us to discuss your specific needs and areas of interest.
  • Course length may vary depending on the school you attend – you will usually study from Monday to Friday for 3 or 4 hours per day in the morning, with an additional 7 to 10 hours of afternoon lessons per week.
